I found that the community spirit, the small classes, and the variety were just what I needed to get me back into shape.

Why is fitness important to you?

I am the happiest when I am healthy and active, to me fitness is synonymous with health. Working out is a great outlet for stress and I can really notice a boost in my energy level. If I have to choose between an extra 40 minutes of sleep or getting out of bed to get my fitness on, my day is much more successful if I get to the gym. I see a lot of people who make poor decisions about taking care of themselves and they become a prisoner to their body. It is much harder to reverse the damage that has been done than to prevent it in the first place. I want to be active my entire life, I don’t ever want to limit my activity due to preventable physical restraints.

How has e3 or the e3 Community helped you in that regard?

I was recruited by a close friend who had great results working out at E3. She swore the gym was amazing and promised me they would get me back in line, and boy was she right. I found that the community spirit, the small classes, and the variety were just what I needed to get me back into shape. I needed the support, the structure and the motivation the coaches provided me to keep me on my path. All of the coaches have such great energy, they are really fun to workout with and they are always positive. There are some phenomenal athletes at the gym and it was inspiring to see how fit people were of all ages and how hard they were pushing themselves.

What is your biggest “health hurdle” and how do you overcome it?

I ran a lot in my 20s and 30s – marathons, etc. However, I don’t think my form is the best, and as I got older I found that I was injured all the time. E3’s classes have been perfect for me – the coaches help with form, and my fitness is now much more well-rounded than before. Knock on wood, I haven’t been injured in quite some time.

What is your chief goal right now with your fitness?

I would like to do a triathlon again but honestly, it is a complete vanity project for May. #abs
